RED OAK - Travis Wallis ran for 106 yards and a touchdown and he threw for another as Red Oak (7-2, 5-0) beat Mesquite Poteet (1-9, 0-6) in District 15-4A at E.H. Hanby Stadium. With their win over Poteet and Forney’s loss to Terrell the Hawks won the 2009 15-4A District Championship. Even if they should lose to Forney on Friday, Nov. 6 and West Mesquite win their game, the Hawks own the tie breaker as they beat West Mesquite.
The Hawks will host the Forney Jackrabbits on their last regular season game on Nov. 6. It is also Senior Night prior to the game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Billy Goodloe Stadium. Come out and support your Hawks football as they try and go undefeated in District play.
