After having beaten district powerhouse Kennedale only a week before, Ferris was carefully getting its hopes up of a repeat against Kaufman to land a spot in the play-offs.

Unfortunately, Kaufman had other plans.

Kaufman put 14 points on the board in the first quarter and held Ferris scoreless until the second when Quarterback Ryan Kidwell ran in from two yards out to put Ferris on the board with seven.

Kaufman added a field goal in the second quarter to keep the lead going into half-time at 17-7.

Kaufman would score a touchdown in each of the remaining quarters to end the game at 31-7.

With the win, Kaufman finished the regular season at No. 1 in District 12-3A.
