ENNIS - Midway shut out Ennis in the first quarter and took a 14-0 lead going into the second.
The Panthers would score another touchdown and make it 21-0 before D.J. Betik connected with Kyle Guinyard on a 70-yard pass to put Ennis on the board.
A four-yard run by Jyavon King and a 24-yard field goal by kicker Colby Threet helped Ennis close the gap going into halftime to 28-17. The third quarter was a mirror image of the first with Midway scoring two more touchdowns, extending their lead to 42-17.
Tim Hearne’s one-yard run and another Betik to Guinyard pass in the fourth quarter were not enough for the Lions to catch the Panthers.
The Ennis Lions are back in action at Midlothian on Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m.
