Bouncing back from a disheartening 1-9 record in a season plagued with injuries, Coach Bill Hughes and the Maypearl Panthers are "good to go."

Four players endured surgery after injuries last season to knees, a shoulder and a collar bone.

This season’s varsity team boasts ten seniors, the largest senior group in Maypearl football history. Before coming to Maypearl, Coach Hughes spent a season with Kennedale High School and enjoyed an 18 year stint with Irving Nimitz High School. Maypearl’s season opener is at home against Italy on Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

I played football in 2002. And we had more than 10 seniors play. So don't say this year has the largest senior class in maypearl history. We had more heart and determination and leadership in our class than this class could ever dream about.
