WILMER: TxDOT plans public meeting to review proposed Pleasant Run project

Project would improve Pleasant Run crossover at Millers Ferry Road and UPRR tracks

WILMER – The Texas Department of Transportation and City ofRockwall welcome citizens to a Public Meeting to review and receive comments on a proposed project to grade separatePleasant Run Road with a crossover atMillers Ferry Road and the Union Pacific Railroad in the city limits of Wilmer inDallasCounty.

The meeting will be held in the Wilmer Community Center at 101Davidson Plaza from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 28. Anyone interested in this project is encouraged to attend this meeting to receive information and give comments about the project.

The proposed project extends from east of Sunrise Road to west of Interstate 45. Proposed improvements include the grade separation of Pleasant Run Road over Millers Ferry Road and the UPRR, realigning and widening Pleasant Run Road from a two-lane undivided section to a four-lane urban section, constructing an intersection at Wolf Creek Boulevard with connecting roads to Clayton Crossing subdivision and Millers Ferry Road, and adding a left turn lane on Millers Ferry Road at the connector. No business or residential properties would be displaced.

The project’s environmental document along with maps and drawings showing the project’s location and geometric design will be available for public viewing at the Public Meeting. This information is also available for viewing and reproduction at the TxDOT Dallas District Office, 4777 E. State Highway 80, Mesquite, TX, 75150, the TxDOT Southeast Dallas County Area Office, 505 South I-45, Hutchins, TX, 75141, and the City of Wilmer, 128 N. Dallas Ave., Wilmer, TX 75172.

While this meeting is not a formal meeting, citizens are invited to share or present verbal and written comments relative to the proposed project. Written comments may be submitted after the meeting and must be postmarked by Friday, July 8, 2011 to be included as part of the public record.
