'Whole lotta shakin' going on'; Earthquake shakes homes in county

ELLIS COUNTY - A 2.7 magnitude earthquake shook homes in Ellis County just before noon on Sunday, June 12 according to reports by the U.S. Geological Survey. The U.S.G.S. reports the earthquake’s epicenter was 13 miles southwest of Waxahachie, 6 miles south of Maypearl, near the Ellis/Johnson County line.

The USGS recorded the time of the earthquake was 11:51 a.m. and according to reports, the quake depth was 3.1 miles.
