The Ellis County Press raises $2,308 for the cure

Tia Mogged: Nathan Pelzel, of Palmer won The Ellis County Press silent auction item, a Sym 125 HD scooter donated by Action Power Sports during the “Relay for Life” Saturday, April 30. All proceeds went to the American Cancer Society.

ENNIS – The Ellis County Press Team Captain Megan Gray is very excited to not only meet, but exceed her fundraising goal of $1,500 during the annual Relay for Life event Friday, April, 29 at the Ennis Motorplex.

“This was my first year to participate and I thought, cancer runs on both sides of my family, why not do something to help?”said Gray, news editor for The Ellis County Press.

The event, had a total of 49 teams, 776 participants and raised more than $110,781.

“I am very thankful to all my team members and to all the companies who donated to our raffle and silent auction,” said Gray.
