12th Annual Lancaster Country Ride this Saturday
LANCASTER - The 12th Annual Lancaster Country Ride, sponsored by Greater Dallas Bicyclists, departs from Lancaster’s Historic Town Square at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 9 with cooperation from the city of Lancaster and the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.
The annual event brings more than 1,100 riders to the area for fun, food and an enjoyable scenic bike trail.
There are three optional routes of 23, 42 or 63 miles.
The latter two will go directly through the scenic Bluebonnet Trail on Sugar Hill Road.
All routes end at Lancaster’s Town Square and is planned in conjunction with the “2nd Saturday on the Square” so riders may enjoy music, artists, vendors and food festivities after their morning ride.
The Lancaster Town Square was laid out in 1852 with many of the original still intact, housing shops and restaurants.
“Second Saturday on the Square” runs Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
