As of 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, Wedgeworth Elementary has been deemed safe for reentry by the Waxahachie Police Department and Waxahachie Fire department.

The building has been released back to the school district.

Wedgeworth students are now returning back to the school from Harvest Baptist Church where they were being held until Waxahachie Independent School District got the okay to return students back to campus.

At approximately 10:36 a.m., a bomb threat was made via a written note to Wedgeworth Elementary.

All students were safely evacuated outside where they were accounted for and closely supervised by Wedgeworth staff.

Due to the cold weather, the district evacuated the students  across the street to Harvest Baptist Church.

School will be released at the regular dismissal time.
