RED OAK - Today at approx. 3:15 pm, a 25-year-old man from Powell, Texas picked up his estranged girlfriend, 32-year-old female from Dallas, from her work at Red Oak Health and Rehab to give her a ride home.

Apparently they got into an argument and he sped off and refused to let her out.  As the suspect vehicle, a maroon 2003 Chevrolet Suburban drove at a high rate of speed eastbound on Ovilla Road where the woman was ejected from the vehicle in front of Eastridge Elementary School.

The Red Oak Police was notified and broadcast a description of the suspect and suspect vehicle, which was located by Ferris PD Officer’s Christopher Ellis and Able Rodriguez on North Central Street at 10th St.

The Officer’s stopped the vehicle and took the suspect into custody without incident.  Red Oak Officer Jason Meeks responded to the Ferris location and took custody of the suspect and booked into the Red Oak City Jail where he will be arraigned on the charge of Kidnapping.

The victim was flown to Parkland hospital via air ambulance in critical condition.
