Sokoll plant employee dead
WAXAHACHIE – Waxahachie council and staff paid respect to the passing of a young city employee Monday, Feb. 21.
Jeffrey Mark Herrin, 30, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19.
“He was playing football and collapsed,” said City Manager Paul Stevens.
“Reportedly, it was because of either a aneurysm or heart attack.”
Herrin, a plant operator at the Sokall Water Treatment Plant in Waxahachie , had been with the city since August of 2007.
City employees encourage all to join them in their thoughts and prayers for his family.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.23 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with a service to celebrate Herrin’s life scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County with Rev. Gary Morgan officiating.Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Herrin, a 99’ Waxahachie High School Graduate, and was described to be a passionate and caring father to his little girl, Kristin.
