Clean-up event scheduled
ELLIS COUNTY - Starting Saturday, March 26th and running thru Saturday, April 2, the county will be hosting another week long clean-up event.
This will provide an opportunity for all county residents to dispose of trash, furniture, mattresses, yard debris and other similar items as well as passenger tires (maximum 10/off rim), and electronics/appliance recycling – at no cost.
No hazardous liquids/chemicals will be accepted.
The event will run simultaneously at two different landfill sites:
ECD Landfill – 5703 N. IH-45, Ennis, 75119 - (972)-875-5374.
CSC Landfill – 101 Republic Way, Avalon, 76623 - (972) 627-3413
Hours at both locations will be: Monday-Friday: 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. – and – Saturdays: 7 a.m.-11 a.m.
Residents are required to obtain a voucher in order to participate.
According to a release sent out by the county, while this may seem inconvenient to some, the reason for the vouchers is their only means to ensure budgeted funds will be adequate to pay for this service to the community.
Vouchers will be available starting Tuesday, March 1 and quantities are limited.
