Teacher killed in head-on collision
FERRIS - Students and faculty alike are mourning the loss of Jr. High Teacher and Assistant High School Football Coach Kyle King after he was killed outside of Forney Saturday, Feb. 5.
King, 26, who many friends and community members are saying was engaged to be married, was a resident of Ennis.
State troopers said the wreck south of Forney on FM 740 happened when a pickup truck driven by Bradley Wade, 27, of Greenville, crossed the center line and hit a truck with King behind the wheel around 4:15 p.m.
Both men were not wearing seat belts.
According to reports, both men were pronounced dead at the scene and investigators are still unsure why Wade drove into oncoming traffic.
` A candlelight vigil was held in honor of King Monday, Feb.7 at the Jr. High in Ferris.
This Friday, Feb. 11, during advisory, (8-8:30 a.m.), there will be a memorial service in the choir room at Ferris High School for students who could not attend the candlelight memorial.
King, who taught 8th grade American history, served Ferris Independent School District for three years.
