A 'Heartfelt Christmas' is coming
LANCASTER – The sights and sounds of Christmas are upon us and the city of Lancaster is no exception.
Christmas in Old Towne Lancaster, 2nd Saturday on the Square and Lancaster's 57th annual Christmas parade with the theme of a "Heartfelt Christmas" this year, are all set for this Saturday, Dec. 11.
The events begin at 10 a.m. on the Historic Town Square with "2nd Saturday on the Square" running until 4 p.m. featuring music, food, vendors for your holiday shopping and Santa available for pictures from 12-2 p.m. The parade will line up just south of the Square on Centre Street beginning at 3 p.m., with judging at 4 p.m. and marching off at 5 p.m.
Organizers said the parade will proceed north along Dallas Ave (Highway 342) to the Lancaster Recreation Center where more fun and games await from 6 - 8 p.m. including a tree lighting, video games, a special visit from Santa Claus, storytelling from Mrs. Claus, live entertainment and a visit to Santa's workshop. Admission is free and all are invited.
