High-risk sex offender alert; Living in your community

FERRIS - Residents are being notified of a high risk sex offender living within a few miles, and some instances, houses, away from them and their children.

The Texas Department of Public Safety sent out postcards alerting Carl Wayne Jackson has moved to 602 Valley View Drive.

Jackson, 55, is a black male weighing 283 pounds and is 5 foot 10 inches.

According to TDPS, Jackson, who also goes by the nickname Bo, spent one year in jail charged on the offense of criminal solicitation of a minor.

Ellis County is home to 222 registered sex offenders with Ferris housing at least 19 of them.
