Road closure: I-30 at the Trinity River Monday and Tuesday
DALLAS COUNTY - The Texas Department of Transportation will temporarily close the inside eastbound mainlane of I-30 between North Beckley Avenue and South Riverfront Boulevard on Monday, Nov.15 from 8 p.m. to Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 5 a.m.
The closure is necessary to repair approximately 150 feet of guardrail damaged in Thursday afternoon’s collision that caused a chain reaction, shutting down both directions of I-30 for several hours during the afternoon rush.
In response to Thursday’s incident, TxDOT maintenance crews set up traffic control to minimize further delays, dispatched Hazardous Materials Teams to clean up spilled diesel fuel and set up temporary traffic barrels to caution drivers of the damaged guardrail. Following their assessment of the wrecked median guardrail, TxDOT maintenance crews quickly initiated a contract to repair the guardrail immediately.
Prior to the closure message boards will be placed to alert the traveling public as contractor crews prepare for Monday night’s repair following the evening rush. TxDOT asks motorists to drive carefully through the work zone and thanks area drivers for their patience and cooperation as crews work diligently to complete this repair as soon and as safely as possible.
