Thoughts to Encourage (gloomy Christians)

"Gloomy Christians moping around with a hang dog look do God a disservice.  Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit even in hard times." Geri McGhee

Psa 107:1-15 "Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others He has redeemed you from your enemies. Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery. They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High. That is why He broke them with hard labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them. "LORD, help!" they cried in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress. He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; He snapped their chains. Let them praise the LORD for His great love and for the wonderful things He has done for them."

Neh 8:10 "Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength (fortified place, defense)."

Gal 5:22-25 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."

"He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD."
Psalms 40:3
