Jackets Roll.....Win 31-24
The Jackets beat the Mabank Panthers in a key 13AAA District showdown Friday night
in front of a good loud home crowd. The win puts Ferris in first place tied with Crandall.
It remains to be seen but this team can enjoy a special seasoon this year.
Mabank took an early leead 14-0 in the first quarter but Ferris came back strong in the second quarter to take a 17-14 lead at halftime.
During this 2Q, the Jackets scored a touchdown on a very impressive 99 yard drive! To this reporter, it was the best and longest drive I've ever seen by a high school team. I think this drive was the key to the game and perhaps this season.
The Jackets defense played well overall with an outstanding performance by Adam Jones, LB, with 16 tackles. With under 2 minutes in the game, the Jackets defense stopped the Panthers on 4 downs at the Ferris 7 yard line to seal the win.
Next Game: Oct 22 at North Forney at 7:30 pm.
Hope to see you there Ferris fans!
