City of Glenn Heights Finalizes Plans for Fall Family Festival
Glenn Heights, TX, October 15, 2010: The City of Glenn Heights has finalized plans for its second annual Family Festival. This citywide event highlights local talent, vendors, entertainment, the arts, and community service organizations.
Several organizations will be on-site to conduct wellness screenings and promote community health and human services programs. The Festival promises fun for all ages including a midway of rides and interactive games, safe Halloween alternatives sponsored by the Glenn Heights Fire Department, a Free Throw Shoot-out sponsored by Full Court Advantage, petting zoo, a variety of Fall themed activities and numerous food vendors.
“This year we have really focused on highlighting local talent and giving the community a safe, low cost event that offers activities for everyone. Most are at low or no cost to encourage maximum participation,” said Councilman Doug Burton, this year’s Festival Chairman.
The Main Stage entertainment line-up includes performers from a variety of venues including school and community organizations, R&B, Rap, Rock, and a Showcase of local Christian/Gospel choirs and performers. Activities are scheduled from 10:00am until dusk followed by a fireworks grand finale.
The City of Glenn Heights Family Festival will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 10:00am until dusk at Heritage Park located at 400 E. Bear Creek. In the event of rain, the event will be held at Shields Elementary. Unlimited ride passes and Festival t-shirts can be purchased at City Hall in advance or on the day of the event.
