Railroading to the future

Chugging Along to its Future , the MKT Train Depot located on S. Rogers in Waxahachie, has undergone significant renovations this summer transforming into a restaurant history and railroad buffs alike are sure to enjoy. According to the Corbet group, the architect firm making the vision of the city and Historic Waxahachie possible, they are doing everything in their power to make sure the structure is as close to its historic roots as possible. "I’m very excited to see the original materials and the all original brick fire place coming along so nicely," said Assistant City Manager Michael Scott during a recent walk-through with the firm. The project is expected to be completed within the next month or two where bids will then be accepted for the restaurant.
