TxDOT NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
PROPOSED FM 664 WIDENING
FROM US 287 TO IH 45
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a Public Meeting on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, for the proposed widening of FM 664 (from US 287 in Waxahachie to IH 45 in Ferris) in Ellis County, Texas. The Public Meeting will be held at Red Oak Municipal Center (200 Lakeview Parkway, Red Oak, Texas, 75154) from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The purpose of the Public Meeting is to present the proposed project to the public and receive comments. It will be conducted in an informal “open house” format. Representatives from TxDOT and project consultants will be available to answer questions about the proposed project.
The proposed project would widen FM 664 from two lanes to a six-lane, curb-and-gutter roadway. It would be approximately 21 miles in length through the Cities of Waxahachie, Ovilla, Glen Heights, Oak Leaf, Red Oak, and Ferris. The proposed improvements would also include constructing new interchanges at IH 35E, SH 342, and IH 45. Approximately 195 acres of additional right-of-way (ROW) and approximately 3 acres of easements would be needed to accommodate the proposed improvements. ROW acquisition would impact undeveloped property, commercial property, and residential property in the project area. The proposed project would impact the FEMA-designated 100-year floodplain.
Maps showing the project’s location and geometric design will be available for viewing at the Public Meeting. This information will also available for public inspection at the TxDOT Dallas District Office (4777 East Highway 80, Mesquite, Texas 75150) and the TxDOT Ellis County Area Office (124 FM 876, Waxahachie, Texas, 75167-0691). Information about the tentative schedules for ROW acquisition and construction may be obtained at the Public Meeting or from the TxDOT Dallas District Office.
All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting to obtain information about the proposed project and to express their views. Persons requiring special communication or accommodation needs should contact the TxDOT Dallas District Public Information Office at (214) 320-6100 at least two (2) working days prior to the Public Meeting so appropriate arrangements can be made. Because the Public Meeting will be conducted in English, any request for language interpretation or other special communication needs should also be made at least two (2) working days prior to the Public Meeting. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.
Verbal and written comments from the public regarding the proposed FM 664 widening project will be accepted at the meeting. Written comments can also be submitted to:
