FERRIS - During the recent arrest of a theft/criminal mischief suspect, a few collectable items were recovered by the Ferris Police Department.

Henry Lee Watkins, also known as Henry Lee Johnson, was arrested and charged on Monday, Oct. 25 with felony criminal mischief for causing more than $1,500 worth of damage to an air conditioner unit outside of a Ferris business.

Watkins, 54, is being accused of trying to commit theft of the metal parts from the unit and in possession of stolen metal bells and a bowl on the 700 block of N. Main Street.

According to Police Chief Sam Love, the motive of these crimes show the suspect intended to sell the metal parts as scrap to interested parties.

Watkins is currently being held at the Ellis County Jail on a bond of $8,000.

If you, or anyone you know, is missing the items shown, contact the Ferris Police Department at 972-544-2225.
