The mighty works of God
Danny G. Hatfield Sr.
The question has often been asked; why do we not see the mighty works of God today?
There have been many excuses and reasons imposed by men that are void of understanding on this subject, but there is only one truth.
We do not see these works because we are not walking in obedience to God and we are not walking in the Spirit of God.
We desire the works of God to manifest, but we are not willing to make the sacrifice to make it happen.
If we want to see the works of God, we must obey God and walk in the Spirit of God.
We must abide in all things concerning God, not in those things we seem to pick and choose to suit ourselves.
We are the body of Christ and must function as the body of Christ.
As Jesus said, those things that he did, we shall do also and even greater works.
However, we will not see these works or do these works until we obey and serve God.
We must stop following the doctrines of men and follow after Christ.
We must stop seeking the approval of men and seek the approval of God!
A legitimate question many have asked, why does God not heal today?
The answer is simple; we do not allow God to heal.
God’s healing is restricted by our own actions; by our own disobedience and by our own lack of belief and lack of faith.
Our faith is transitional; we have more confidence and faith in men than we have faith in God.
God operates in our faith and in our obedience to HIM, not at our demand.
We MUST UNDERSTAND we cannot walk in Holiness and walk in disobedience at the same time; if we do; we become lukewarm and become spewed vomit out of the mouth of the Lord.
When Jesus Christ came to us, he brought with him the kingdom of heaven.
The kingdom of heaven can, will or does abide in us through Jesus Christ and his shed blood.
If we are to abide in Jesus Christ we must walk in the Spirit; if we walk in the Spirit, we will also be obedient to God.
Understand, we cannot walk in the Spirit if we do not have the Spirit.
We must also remember in God there is no darkness at all.
If we desire to know God and to see the works of God, we must walk in the Spirit, abide in the light as he is in the light and abide in the kingdom of heaven.
"The kingdom of heaven is not meat or drink, but PEACE, JOY AND RIGHTEOUSNESS in the Holy Ghost" (Romans 14:17).
If we are not walking in the Spirit, do not expect to see the mighty works God. God’s works and gifts are spiritual and in order for them to manifest, we must walk in the Spirit and not after the flesh.
Today in our American society, we seek the things of this world, possessions and pleasures, before we seek God. We have put the cart before the horse and placed God second to this world. What is wrong with this picture? "Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God, and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33). Those things will be added at God’s discretion according to his riches in glory and not our own.
The fruit of the Spirit is in this, obedience to God in all things. We must submit to God’s word to include all men, women and children. We must abide in love, love for God and love for one another. Joy, the joy of the Lord is our strength. Peace, an inner peace that passes all understanding, when we have the inner peace of God we will have external peace with all mankind. Longsuffering, this is the patience of the saints. Gentleness and goodness, to do those things that are good in a temperate manner.
Faith, we must have faith in order to please God and to see the works of God. Meekness is humility and temperance is self control. We must have a servant’s heart, not a desire to be served, but a desire to serve as did our King, Jesus; no servant is greater than his master.
Many today expect God to serve them by succumbing to their demands, as in money and possessions. They have failed to remember, we are the servants of God, and God is not the servant to humanity, understand, God is a father to those born of his Spirit. In all this we must abide, crucifying on the cross of Jesus Christ anything contrary to the Spirit of God.
To answer the question why do we not see the mighty works of God, start at the top of this page and read again. I will address the love of money and the covetous evil that pursues those that are blinded by greed at a later time.
