The substance of faith

Now faith is the substance (realization) of things hoped for, the evidence (confidence) of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Substance is defined as a physical material from which something is made and faith is a physical material in which we hope for things to be created from nothing. The very keys of the kingdom of God have been given to His believers to use to transform the world and to set men free from the bondage of sin, sickness and death!

Faith is the main weapon in the believer’s arsenal to defeat the powers of darkness and to operate in the spiritual realm of the kingdom of Heaven. In this world of virtual reality nothing really exists in this new age of the Internet and men’s minds are led into fantasy and delusion which ultimately bring them into futility.

On the other hand faith translates or conveys us into the true revelation of another dimension in which the Lord Jesus Christ dwells. This is that place where miracles, true signs and wonders come into being, created by faith in the living God from whom all things exist.

The keys to the kingdom have been given to only those who would dare to unlock the mysteries of God and to walk in the same power as the Lord Jesus did as His representatives in the earth. Do you want to remain a spectator in the greatest game of all or would you trust your very life and soul to the Creator of all things and join the fight of a lifetime: the good fight of faith?

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Revelation

“Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in Heaven.” Matthew 16:17

Jesus asked His disciples who men thought He was, and they answered and said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ (the anointed One) the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered him and said that he had received a revelation from God, in other words Jesus was revealed to Peter as God’s own Son and not just an acquaintance or friend but truly the One we are to place our trust in.

Because of Peter’s revelation of who He was Jesus gave him the keys of the kingdom of Heaven and told him that whatever he would bind would be bound, and whatever he loosed would be loosed in Heaven giving him power to operate in faith. When one truly believes in Jesus that He is their Savior he receives salvation and when one comes to trust Him for their needs he comes to the realization that He is their provider. The same is true for those who would walk by faith and not by sight, they must truly believe and trust in the Lord with all of their heart.

Jesus said that His church would be built on revelation, the revealing of the mysteries of God to His followers who chose to walk by totally trusting Him for everything. Today in our new age world of micro-wave everything we are taught to trust in science and technology, medicine and wonder drugs, doctors and specialists of all kinds and when we have exhausted all of these avenues, then maybe we will cry out to the One who created us. In most cases at that point it is too late! If you buy a new Chevy and it breaks down, do you trust Ford to fix it, or do you take it back to its creator? Get the picture, you have to believe and trust God in order to please Him who created you!

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, (little stone) and on this rock (revelation) I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18

Who do you trust?

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24

In order to walk in faith one must trust completely in the One he is attempting to believe and this kind of trust only comes by establishing a solid relationship with God. We trust those we know and those we don’t we are skeptical of, in other words when we grew up we put our total trust in our parents to do what was right for us and never questioned their ability because we knew they were looking out for our best interests. Childlike faith comes by allowing God to truly be our Spiritual Father and involve Him in all of our earthly affairs.

People take medicine because it is proven to work, they go to the Doctor because they trust him, they go to their banker because they know he will loan them money, they believe because all of these things have a proven track record, but what if these modern day conveniences were not available and your only option was to trust God? Trust Him to heal, to provide and to totally control your life, pretty scary, but trusting in the One who created you and loves you more than anyone is a liberating experience, known by those who have surrendered their lives into His care.

To surrender one’s life into the care of another can be a fearful thing unless you have established a solid relationship of trust with God and truly believe that He is who He says He is, the Creator of all and in Him all things hold together. Once you have placed your trust in Him and not man you will enter another realm of spiritual warfare and will have to fight the good fight of faith, but the rewards will be greater than you have ever known as you step out into the perfect will of God for man-to believe!

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct (make smooth) your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6.
