My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep My commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you. Proverbs 3:1

In these uncertain times when anything is likely to happen in the blink of an eye, Jesus is the only One you can trust. The government is in a meltdown mode, the weather is out of control, crime, terror and war are raging around the world but Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the One true and trusted friend that never changes, always there for you in any and all situations, even when we sin and fall He is there to pick us up. Where else could we find such an immovable rock of hope to hold on to in times of trouble. In the midst of fiery trials and afflictions, sickness and distress He promises that He will never leave us or forsake us.

Proverbs 3:1-10 is my favorite and the first word that God ever gave me more than 30 years ago. Just saved from a life of drugs and despair Jesus spoke these words into my heart and I have never forgotten them, nor the One who graciously gave them. Within this proverd are the very keys to the abundant life that Jesus promised.

TRUST- Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

To trust someone involves knowing them intimately and believing that whatever they say to you they will fulfill. When one gives his heart to Jesus and begins to seek His presence in His word and prayer he will find His will revealed for his life.

God’s kingdom is revealed to man by way of divine revelation, the very rock that Christianity is built on. Knowing God comes through time spent with Him as well as in any other relationship, quality time is essential for trust to be built in ones life. By believing Him and taking Him at His word will produce faith to ask, seek and knock in every circumstance of your life.

Leaning on your understanding of the natural world will limit your progress in trusting in and following the Lord. The kingdom of God is not a natural earthly realm but a dimension of supernatural life that one receives when he is born again.

The kingdom of God is within you because the King resides in your heart. To trust Him with all of your heart will produce mountain moving faith.

ACKNOWLEDGE- In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:6

To acknowledge God is to give Him preeminence in every situation in our lives. Submitting every plan under His supervision will insure that our path will be made straight.

Making Jesus the Lord of all of our circumstances allows the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us through life. Upon surrendering ourselves under the control of the Great Shepherd and acknowledging His leadership over our plans, dreams and visions will provide divine protection and provision in all that we do.

Making right decisions and plans can be a fearful thing without the intervention of the Creator’s loving hand to guide us. He is our source for all wisdom and discernment and without Him we would walk in darkness.

In order to traverse the paths of life give God the opportunity to lead you and guide you in all of your ways and He will go before you and make the crooked places straight.

FEAR-  Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones. Proverbs 3:7,8

To fear God is to respect and honor His great power and authority over our lives and the whole creation. God is all knowing and exits everywhere watching over the sons of men and judging the world according to His word.

Because of Satan’s fall from Heaven and the subsequent sin of Adam hell was prepared by God for the devil and his angels, man was never intended to go there. By departing from sin and evil, repenting of ones sin and by submitting under the control of the Holy Spirit will not only insure for you eternal life, but will bring healing and restoration to your whole being.

The fear of the Lord brings forth wisdom and knowledge to keep ourselves pure and on the right path, free from the bondage of sin. This holy reverence for God will produce a lifelong respect for your heavenly Father and will create an eternal bond that cannot be broken. Just as we respected our earthly fathers, how much more shall we give honor and glory to the One God of all Who created us?

HONOR- Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine. Proverbs 3:9,10

New creation giving involves being led by Holy Spirit’s prompting in our lives. The sons of God are led by the Spirit and not by the law or by rituals to give freely from their abundance. Today’s church has taught for centuries that man should tithe so that he wont be cursed as it says in Malachi.

When Jesus offered up His life for us and shed His own blood He set us free from the law of commandments and the rituals that held us in bondage under the old covenant. Born again believers are now free to give as the Spirit leads and not as the scriptures command. The new testament church gave to those in need so that their abundance could supply someone elses lack that there might be equality in the body.

To give firstfruits is to give of the first of all that comes to you insuring that as you give by the Spirit’s leading it will be multiplied back to you in abundance. God loves a c0cheerful giver, not someone compelled by an old dead ritual, but out of a heart of compassion and mercy truly wanting to meet someone’s need instead of paying the

church’s overhead.

He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully (with blessings). So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; (compulsion) for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. II Corinthians 9:6-8.
