Thoughts to Encourage (rest in the Lord)
"Because our times are in God's hands and because He has ordered our steps, has a perfect plan, knows what is the best, safest and most wonderful path for us to take for our good and for His greatest glory, we ought not fret (stress) when our schedule is interrupted or obstacles are thrown in our way. God is faithful; we must give Him control."
1Th 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
Psa 18:2 "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."
Psa 18:30 "As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him."
Psa 20:7 "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God."
Psa 34:22 "The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate."
Psa 37:3 "Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed."
Psa 37:5 "Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
Psa 37:40 "And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him."
Psa 40:3 "And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."
Psa 64:10 "The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory."
Psa 73:28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works."
Psa 91:2 "I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust."
Psa 125:1 "They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever."
Isa 26:4 "Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:"
Isa 31:1 " WOE to them that go down to Egypt (world) for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots (flesh), because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!"
Heb 4:1 " Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest,
Psa 37:7-8 "Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing."
Pro 24:19 "Do not fret because of evildoers Or be envious of the wicked."
Psa 139:1-18 "For the choir director: A psalm of David. O LORD, You have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I'm far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. You go before me and follow me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! I can never escape from Your Spirit! I can never get away from Your presence! If I go up to heaven, You are there; if I go down to the grave, You are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there Your hand will guide me, and Your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night- but even in darkness I cannot hide from You. To You the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to You. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous-how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, You are still with me!" (NLT)
"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones."
