Ferris powerlifting teams give strong performance at district meet

FERRIS - Ferris' JV and varsity powerlifting teams were all honored at a meet in
Crandall Saturday.
The JV boys team took second place with 37 points.
The varsity girls and boys teams both took second place in their divisions with
25 and 35 points, respectively.
The following individuals accepted awards:
Crystal Ortiz, First Place, 105 lb. weight class with 560 lbs. lifted,
Outstanding Light Weight Lifter; Maggie Sands, First Place, 123 lb. weight class
with 623 lbs. lifted; Kaytlin Griffith, First Place 132 lb. weight class with
650 lbs. lifted; Armando Castillo, First Place, 123 lb. weight class with 1,035
lbs. lifted, Outstanding Light Weight Lifter; Tyler Griffith, First Place 242
lb. weight class with 1,330 lbs. lifter.
