RED OAK - The boys Hawks soccer teams opened at home against Forney on a cold
Jan. 13 night.
The JV team had the early game and looked pretty good while the keeper made some
good saves early on.
The varsity team had the late game and gave up an early goal.
The Hawks finally started to warm up midway through the first half and battling
a cold north wind, were able to get a tying goal with about 18 minutes left in
the half on a free penalty kick.
The game would stay tied until late in the second half when Forney was able to
get their second and game winning goal, on the night.
The Hawks lost their home opener to Forney 2-1.
