Ennis Lions rock Kilgore to advance to the semifinals

ENNIS - The Ennis Lions faced the Kilgore Bulldogs Friday night at Mesquite
Memorial Stadium. Kilgore didn't stand a chance against Ennis quarterback D.J.
Betik who threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns in the game. Betik alternated
between wide receivers Kyle Guinyard and Deonte McDade for four of seven
touchdowns.
Ennis scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and added two more in the
second quarter to take a lead of 35-14 at half-time.
A touchdown in each of the last two quarters secured the victory over Kilgore,
48-21.
Ennis (11-1) will now face Rockwall-Heath (12-0) in the Class 4A, Division II,
Region II semifinals, location TBA.
