Red Oak's ISD Hawk Eye News held its sixth annual banquet June 28 at the Red Oak
High School. This award-winning news program is a partner with the ROISD Police
Department and its Project Success / HADDIT Drug Free program along with Allen
Oliver Productions.
For those who don't know what it takes to put together a news cast, these
extremely talented students put in numerous hours for their monthly news cast
and made it so very easy. However, instead of reporting on school and community
events, this night was for them.
The evening started with ROISD Police Chief Scott Lindsey welcoming everyone to
the banquet and recognizing distinguished guests and sponsors, including ROISD
board President John Hawkins and ROISD Superintendent Scott Niven.
Hawk Eye News Sports anchor, Zack Toombs, led the Invocation and afterwards,
Allen Oliver recognized two contributors to Hawk Eye News during the 2007-2008
school year; Steve Patterson with Moving Pictures and Scott Krywalski with Red
Oak Photos who provided sports, school and community photos throughout the year.
Students, parents and guests were then treated to an awesome catered barbeque
dinner with all the fixings. A "Year in review" video was played while everyone
ate. After dinner individual awards were handed out by Allen and Kimberly
Oliver.
2007-2008 Hawk Eye News program had a very successful year as indicated by the
