Hawks battle  ex-coach on the diamond

RED OAK - After beating Forney on Friday, March 23 for a big district win, the
Hawks had to turn around and come back and play the district leading Corsicana
Tigers and face their ex-coach for the first time.
However, first and foremost for the Hawks was to win the game and better their
position for a play-off spot.
Corsicana came in undefeated in district, but struggled to shake the feisty
Hawks.
For the majority of the game, the Hawks matched Corsicana run for run, but late
in the game Corsicana pulled ahead and hung to win 7-5 and stay undefeated.
Despite the loss, the Hawks are not out of the play-off picture yet.
A strong second half of the season could easily put the Hawks in the thick of
things.
