The Ellis County Press: ROJH Hawks 7th grade football, a mix of tricks and treats ROJH Hawks 7th grade football, a mix of tricks and treats ================================================================================ Steve Patterson on 11/03/2011 11:31:00 RED OAK - Although it wasn’t a varsity game, there was just as much excitement between the ROJH 7th Grade A team vs. Lancaster. The Hawks wasted no time in scoring and scoring often. The Hawks first score came on a quick pass on a crossing route to the Hawks’ #43. The Hawks defense brought their A game too and held Lancaster scoreless for 3-1/2 quarters. The 7th grade A team ended up winning 26-6. The 7th grade B team game was more of a defensive battle, but just as exciting. The Lancaster Tigers would tie the game up at 6-6 setting up a dramatic finish. On the last play of the game, the Hawks QB (#5) threw a long down the field pass and the Hawks came within inches of taking it to the end zone, but the ball was batted down to the ground and they lost 12-6 heartbreaker.
