The Ellis County Press: First Pitch Kids honored First Pitch Kids honored ================================================================================ Steve Patterson on 05/05/2011 19:01:00 RED OAK - Fourth grader Drew Davis was honored by the Red Oak Hawks Varsity Baseball team and Project Success as one of two First Pitch Kid students prior to the Hawks vs. Lancaster varsity baseball game. Drew was nominated by Coach Judi Ray. Drew’s interests include baseball, fishing, hunting, reading and chess. Drew loves playing baseball and supporting the Texas Rangers. Coach Judi Ray stated that Drew is extremely bright and loves sports and being outdoors. He loves going hunting and fishing with his Pappy, and helping others. Seventh grader Logan Heckart was also honored and nominated by Coach Fagan. Logan plays football, basketball, runs track and pole vaults at the ROJH. Logan was nominated because he shows great work ethics and leadership as a 7th grade athlete. He is very respectful and does a great job on his school work. Coach Fagan also stated Logan is an outstanding student at the ROJH who goes above and beyond what is required of him. As a student he takes care of business in the classroom and respects his teachers and peers. On the playing field Logan is a jack of all trades, he is QB of the football team, point guard on the basketball team, and a great pole vaulter and distance runner on the track team. These two great students are being presented with an autographed baseball from the Red Oak Hawks Baseball Team along with a certificate from ROHS Varsity Baseball and Project Success. Great job to all these fine students, their teachers and principals who nominated them for this honor.
