The Ellis County Press: Ellis County Youth Football Super Bowl Ellis County Youth Football Super Bowl ================================================================================ Steve Patterson on 11/26/2010 14:56:00 ELLIS COUNTY - Although the real Super Bowl is a couple of months away on Saturday, Nov. 20, more than 100 Ellis County Youth Football players had their shot at divisional Super Bowl titles at Red Oak High School’s Billy Goodloe Stadium. The first game of the day was the Flag Division, Red Oak Ravens vs. Waxahachie Chiefs and it turned up to be one of the most thrilling of the four games, but in the end the Chiefs held on to win a nail biter. The C Division game saw the Ennis Lions take on the Waxahachie Lil Indians. This game started out close, the Lions would end up running away with it. The B-Division game was against two Waxahachie teams, the Sioux and Tejas. The Sioux took the first play from scrimmage and score a 80 TD, but the Tejas slowly but surely powered the ball down the field and scored on their first possession. In what looked like a game that would see a lot of points turned one sided when the Souix defense forced turnovers and returned interceptions for points, the Souix went on to win the B-Division Super Bowl trophy. The final game was a rematch between the A –Division Red Oak Longhorns and the Waxahachie Comanche. The big boys came out to play today and there were plenty of hard hits and big plays, but the Comanche would come up with the big win. A special thanks to the Red Oak Youth Pee Wee Football Association for hosting the games and keeping things running smooth and thanks to the ROISD Athletic Department for the use of the HS Football field.
