WAXAHACHIE - Indian Trail Chapter, Texas Master Naturalist August 2012 Meeting
Program – free and open to the public - will be on Monday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m.
in the Banquet Hall of the Waxahachie First United Methodist Church. The church
is located at 505 W. Marvin Avenue in Waxahachie.
Steve Woodward, the owner of the Wild Bird Center in Fort Worth which is the
supplier of seed and supplies to the Fort Worth Zoo and Fort Worth Nature Center
and Refuge, will show us the secrets to attracting hummingbirds to our yard.
Woodward has been a backyard birder for nearly 20 years.
Learn all about the fascinating biology, habits and history of these tiniest of
all birds. Woodward will explore their world and show us how to draw more
hummingbirds to our own yard and keep them coming back year after year.
Indian Trail Chapter will hold a business meeting prior to the program, at 6
p.m. at the same location.
Indian Trail Chapter is part of the Statewide Texas Master Naturalist Volunteer
Program of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and the Texas Cooperative
Extension.
The mission: to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide
education, outreach and service dedicated to the beneficial management of
natural resources and natural areas within their communities.
This program is part of a series of “no cost” “open to the public”
Master Naturalist programs offered the fourth Monday (generally) of each month,
