Thirty-nine seniors filed into the DeSoto High School auditorium to greet awaiting family, friends and DeSoto ISD staff as the Pomp and Circumstance processional played at the Thursday, Aug. 19 ceremony. Prior to the presentation of diplomas, principal of DeSoto High School Dr. Cheyrl Ensley recognized the graduates and Board Secretary Warren Seay spoke to the soon-to-be graduates about his educational experiences and provided encouraging words, reminding them that, "Eagles always soar." Students were then confirmed by Superintendent Lloyd Treadwell and tassels were turned while guests cheered with delight. DeSoto High School offered summer courses in subject areas necessary for students who lacked course credit as well as Exit-Level TAKS testing. These graduates join their DHS Class of 2010 alumni in leaving their mark on the school, community and state.
