The Ellis County Press: Moonlight Movie series to kick-off Friday Moonlight Movie series to kick-off Friday ================================================================================ Editor on 06/03/2010 17:07:00 WAXAHACHIE - The Summer Moonlight Movie series kicks off this Friday, June 4, with "Places In The Heart." The movies begin at approximately 9 p.m. and are shown on Franklin Street between College and Jackson Streets. Citizens are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Each movie is free to the public and sponsored by the city of Waxahachie Main Street Program. The Waxahachie Lion's Club, which provides concessions for the movies, will be giving away free snow cones and popcorn during the Friday, June 4 movie. There will also be an opportunity to register to win two tickets to the Gingerbread Trail Tour of Homes, donated by the Ellis County Museum. "We are so excited to be able to offer our residents the downtown movies again this year," said Anita Williamson, downtown development director. "It is a great, family-friendly activity, and having our historic downtown as a backdrop is just an added bonus," said Willia-mson. Other movies scheduled to be shown are "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs" on June 18, "The Blind Side" on July 9, "Where the Wild Things Are" on July 30 and "Up" on Aug. 20.
