The Ellis County Press: High School students induction into the National Honor Society High School students induction into the National Honor Society ================================================================================ Editor on 05/27/2010 16:04:00 RODNEY CARTER The Ellis County Press PALMER - The proud parents of a small group of hard working students gathered in the Palmer High School Gym on Monday, May 10 at 7 p.m. to watch their son or daughters induction into the National Honor Society. Superintendent Kevin Noack welcomed all to the ceremony with National Honor Society student Vice-President Matthew Hurst giving the Invocation and President Savannah Stephens greeting proud family members, friends and students present. These students not only have to make A's or B's required to be considered but, they must write a short essay describing why they should be a part of this important society. Along with these requirements, these students must be a part of helping in the community by giving their time to community service projects and conduct themselves on a daily basis in a manner respectful to all members of the community. The students receiving this honor for the 2010 school year listed alphabetical are as follows: SOPHOMORES: Taylor Bruton, Garrett Derden, Trevor Kemp, Jerome Mendoza, Luis Moya, Blase Saucedo and Trevor Scott. SENIORS: Ashley Pruner and Emily Siberstein. After a signing and pining ceremony, Assistant Principal DeWayne Osborne gave the closing remarks, then everyone took pictures and mingled while enjoying refreshments.
