"Following an eight-month stretch of double-digit declines, the pace of revenue losses is slowing," said Texas Comptroller Susan Combs. Cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts will receive a little more than $394 million in April sales tax allocations. Down nearly 4 percent this time last year. According to the comptroller's office, monthly sales tax allocations to local governments lag 7.4 percent behind 2009 but are expected to see growth by the end of this year. March state sales tax revenue and April payments made to local governments represent sales that occurred in February.
