County applies for block grant

WAXAHACHIE - Ellis County Commissioners unanimously approved a  resolution  to
allow Ellis County to apply for a grant funded by the American Recovery and
Reinstatement Act and being allocated through the State Energy Conservation
Office.
"The grant is to study energy efficiency in the Detention Center to
significantly reduce electric bills," said Joe White, county engineer.
The grant amount is for $120,000  and  the county will be notified in February
2010 if its approved.
