All railroaders, their families, their friends and train lovers are welcomed to be a part of this fun, loving group. Sunday, April 6 Fourth Degree and Benefiting Scholarships hosts dinner Chicken fried steak dinner will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ennis from11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinners consist of chicken fried steak with all the trimmings including dessert, tea and coffee, all sponsored by The Fourth Degree and Benefiting Scholarships. Carry-outs will be available and the public is invited to attend. All dinners are $7. Wednesday, April 9 MAAG to gather in Methodist Church The MAAG will gather in the Memorial Hall of First United Methodist Church in Ennis at 11:30 a.m. for lunch, great fellowship and a special program to be presented by Michael Howard, the pastor of the Cowboy Church. Friday and Saturday, April 25 & 26 The Sunbeam Club holds reunion The Sunbeam Club has decided to hold their reunion in the fellowship hall of Baylor Baptist Church. This reunion always opens on Friday evening with a hobo stew and cornbread supper, games and a lot of laughter and visitation. On Saturday morning, people are welcome to arrive for morning coffee and more fellowship. A catered Bar-B-Que lunch is enjoyed at noon and is followed by a time of special recognitions and a door prize give-away. Don't miss this exciting weekend! Ferris Every Tuesday Knit and Crochet Group The Knit and Crochet Group meeting every Tuesday, from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall in the First United Methodist Church, located at 101 Redbud in Ferris. Whether you are an experienced knitter or crocheter or just wanting to learn, everyone is welcome to join. There is an active Prayer Shawl Ministry and you can share patterns, advice and fellowship. Saturday, March 29 Ferris Chapter #508 holds pancake breakfast The Ferris Chapter #508 will be holding their pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. All-you-can-eat pancakes served with bacon, sausage, juice and coffee will be served for only $5. Children under 6 years of age will be free. All proceeds will benefit the Ferris Chapter #508 Eastern Star. Ellis County Friday, April 4 New Hawaiian Falls Mansfield hires for Summer 2008 Persons 15 and older are invited to several job fairs being held by the new Hawaiian Falls water park located at 490 Heritage Parkway, just off Highway 360, near the Big League Dreams park. The water park is now hiring lifeguards, supervisors, ride attendants, cashiers, ticket takers, cooks, housekeeping and maintenance workers for the 2008 summer season. Maypearl Friday, June 6 2008 Ellis County Relay for Life benefits The American Cancer Society The 2008 Ellis County Relay for Life began selling raffle tickets March 4. The drawing will take place at the Ellis County Relay at the Maypearl High School. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. Many prizes can be won, including dinner for two at Kozy Kitchen, two tickets to a Stars hockey game, $300 gas card, Acer laptop and much more. The ceremonies for the Ellis County Relay will kick off at 7 p.m. Fun, food and activities will be for all to enjoy. Midlothian Sunday, March 30 Fifth Sunday at Sardis Gospel Singing There are five Sundays in March and that means it is time for another great fifth Sunday at Sardis Gospel Singing. Everyone is invited to participate in one of the oldest Gospel singings in Ellis County and enjoy some of the greatest talent ever to sing praises to the Lord. The fun and fellowship will begin at 6 p.m. There will be a break at around 7:30 p.m. and snacks will be available for everyone. After the break, the singing will continue until around 9 p.m. If you cannot make it to the church, you can listen live on KBEC Radio at 1390 on your AM dial. Gardeners are invited to bring their extra plants, seeds and rooted cuttings, as well as gardening supplies, tools, art and whatever garden-related items they'd like to trade to another gardener for something new and different. Proceeds will benefit the local Rainbow Girl Philanthropic Activities.
