Dallas County awarded the contract for SE Dallas County to CareFlite on
Thursday, Jan. 5. Service did in fact start Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 12:01 a.m.
Under this agreement, CareFlite is now the ground ambulance provider responsible
for all 911 calls for EMS (emergency medical service) in the unincorporated
portions of SE Dallas County shown on the map at right.
This contract is CareFlite’s fifth 911/EMS contract. In Dallas County,
CareFlite already provides 911/EMS service to the city of Balch Springs and to
those portions of the city of Ferris and its ETJ (extraterritorial jurisdiction)
under its contract with Ellis County ESD #5 and the city of Ferris.
CareFlite also provides 911/EMS service in Hill and Johnson Counties.
