Midlothian recruit graduates United States Marine Corps.

MIDLOTHIAN - PFC Hayden B. Whatley, 19, of Midlothian, graduated from United
States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Friday,
Sept. 9.
Whatley is the son of Mayor Boyce Whatley and his wife Sheila of Midlothian.
PFC Whatley successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD
San Diego as one of nearly 500 recruits in 3rd Battalion.
During his training he was assigned to Lima Company, Platoon 3256.
While in basic training PFC Whatley was awarded the Marksman Badge  and was a
member of the coveted Honor Platoon recognized for their overall platoon scores
received during training.
Following 10 days home on leave he will report to Camp Pendleton for one month
at Military Combat Training then Pensacola Florida for Military Occupation
Specialty School studying avionics /pneumatic and hydraulics.
PFC Whatley will be assigned to one of the Marine Air Wings following training.
