The Ellis County Press: Retired high school teacher receives recognition Retired high school teacher receives recognition ================================================================================ Editor on 05/12/2011 13:01:00 Submitted Article WACO - At the 2011 Texas Technology Student Association State Convention held over the weekend, May 5-7, in Waco, a special award was presented to retired teacher Paul Caldwell. Caldwell, retired from Venus High School , was presented an award for more than 30 years of service and contributions to TSA by Board President Bob Behnke and Executive Director Bud Worley, both who have served with Caldwell during this time. Caldwell has served on several boards to help further TSA in its goal to help students grow into leaders. He has been in charge of the Structure Contest at the State and National level for many years. He also helps in several other contests at Nationals. While being retired since January, he was present to help oversee this year’s competition, and will be at the National Conference being held at the Gaylord in Grapevine this June. In his acceptance speech, Caldwell spoke of how he had been influenced by the passion and desire of many people he has worked with in TSA. He spoke of the rewards of being involved with, and seeing the growth of TSA students over the years. He talked of how the students he has worked with have taught him many things over the years. Caldwell will still be involved, working to help further the education and growth of all he comes in contact with, retired or not.
