The Ellis County Press: 'Two Irish Tenors' to celebrate St. Patrick's Day 'Two Irish Tenors' to celebrate St. Patrick's Day ================================================================================ Megan Gray on 03/05/2011 14:49:00 WAXAHACHIE - To help bring in the green festivities on Thursday, March 17 , in full Irish style, fourth generation Irishmen Patrick Moriarty of Waxahachie and Timothy O’Connor of Red Oak present the "Two Irish Tenors." Hosted by Parson’s Rose, Order of the Confederate Rose and Roberts Camp #178, Sons of the Confederate Veterans, the evening of light finger foods and Irish entertainment is sure to be enjoyed by all. "Being a fourth generation, St. Patrick’s Day was always a big celebration in my household," said O’Connor. Moriarty’s generation hails from County Cork – home of the infamous Blarney Stone and O’Connor hails from County Kerry - one of the twenty-six traditional counties of the Republic of Ireland. The reigning duo have been spreading the "luck of the Irish" together for nearly four years playing senior citizens homes, expos, pubs and even banks. "We just like to sing Irish tunes, tell Irish jokes and overall, just entertain and have fun," said O’ Connor. Finger foods will be served at 6:15 p.m. followed by the "Two Irish Tenors" performance at 7 p.m. at the Ellis County Women’s Building located at 407 W. Jefferson in Waxahachie. The event is free and open to the public. Families are welcome and encouraged to come out for an evening of Irish music, laughter and history.
