FERRIS - The Ellis County Press Publisher Charles D. Hatfield Jr. was appointed
to the Type-B Economic Development Commission during last week’s council
meeting held Tuesday, Jan. 18.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to serve,” said Hatfield, also on
the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission for the past nine years.
Hatfield, a resident for more than 19 years, is also the treasurer for the
Ferris Main Street Downtown Association and the Public Affairs Officer for the
Texas Civil Defense.
“ I enjoy being active within my community, I want to see Ferris prosper,”
said Hatfield.
Hatfield attended Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, Okla before going on
to Northeastern State University and earning his Bachelors in
Marketing/Journalism in Tahlequah, Okla in 1977.
Full list of Type-B board members are : Chair Barbara Pardue, Vice Chair Virgina
Bodine, Suzanne Klein, Virgina Kay, Charles Hatfield, Shelley Davis and Polly
Starr.
