Campus Reconfiguration for 2011-2012 School Year

WAXAHACHIE - During the regularly scheduled board meeting, Monday, Dec. 13, the
Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees voted to implement the campus reconfiguration
plan as presented by Superintendent Thomas J. Collins.
The reconfiguration plan, which will go into effect at the start of the
2011-2012 school year, consists of the following changes:
Marvin Elementary:
PreKindergarten and other Early Childhood Programs
Clift Elementary:
Kindergarten through Grade 5
Dunaway Elementary:
Kindergarten through Grade 5;
Bilingual Program
Felty Elementary:
Kindergarten through Grade 5
Northside Elementary:
Kindergarten through Grade 5
Shackelford Elementary:
Kindergarten through Grade 5
Wedgeworth Elementary:
Kindergarten through Grade 5;
Bilingual Program
Finley Junior High:
Grades 6-8
Howard Junior High:
Grades 6-8
With the approval of the reconfiguration plan now in place, district
administrators will immediately begin working with district demographers on the
rezoning process.
During the January/February time frame, community forums will be held to present
the recommended rezoning plan and answer any questions the public may have.
Furthermore, the district will begin formulating a staffing plan for each
affected campus.
During the month of January, campus informational meetings will be scheduled
with those campuses affected by the reconfiguration change.
Staffing plans will not be finalized until the Board of Trustees approves the
recommend rezoning plan.
