North Ellis County Coalition of Cities representatives travel to Austin

ELLIS COUNTY - Representatives of the North Ellis County Coalition of Cities
travelled to Austin Wednesday, Nov. 17, to stress the need for improvements to
FM664 (Ovilla Rd.)
They met with State Representative Jim Pitts and Texas Transportation Commission
Chair Deirdre Delisi as well as visiting with the office of the freshman State
Senator Brian Birdwell.
The coalition is a group of seven cities that are working together to benefit
the whole northern Ellis County region, and include Ovilla, Glenn Heights, Oak
Leaf, Red Oak, Pecan Hill, Ferris and Palmer.
If approved, the project would widen and improve FM664 from Ovilla in the west
to IH45 in Ferris.
"It is a long, tough job to get a project this size approved and funded, and we
all agreed it was time to go stress its importance at the Capitol," said
Coalition Chairman Alan Hugley.
