This August I am embarking on a Listening Tour. From Corsicana to Crockett,
Midlothian to Mansfield and many cities and counties in between - I will be
hosting town halls. (Find complete list below.)
These meetings are a chance for me to update you on the latest things happening
in Washington, but most importantly they are a chance for me to listen to you.
My fellow Republicans and I have re-focused our efforts to put people at the
center of our legislative plan. Using the revolutionary website -
AmericaSpeakingOut.com - hundreds of thousands of people have already shared
their ideas. My upcoming town halls are an extension of that effort.
I will be soliciting your thoughts in person and online. I have even set up a
special email address: white.board@mail.house.gov. Like the name implies, this
will be a virtual white board where you can share your vision for America's
future. I will then post your ideas on my website.
I am hoping we can build on the passion we saw last summer when record crowds
came out to my town hall meetings - close to 5,000 overall. Most wanted to
express anger over the Democrats' proposal for a government takeover of the
nation's health care system.
That bill is now law and judging by the people who have called and written my
office that anger has turned in to resolve.
They want people in Washington who ask for more than their vote. They want
members of Congress who ask for their ideas.
I hope you will take this chance to share your thoughts with me because your
opinion matters. If you can't make it to one of my town hall meetings, then

engage in a political conversation with your fellow Americans.
