WILMER - A Longtime respected citizen, former Mayor and council member passed
away suddenly last Thursday, June 10.
Billy Wic-kliffe, part of the old tr-ain in Wil-mer, was kn-own for his politics
as much as he was his cheerful smile.
Seventy-seven year old Wickliffe served the city of Wilmer from 1960-2005,
including three separate terms as mayor.
"He was a friend of the family and seeing him at lunch with his mischievous
smile and laughter will surely be missed," said Publisher of _The Ellis County
Press _Charles D. Hatfield Jr.
Wickliffe was buried Monday, June 14 at Red Oak Cemetery.
